I got an e-mail from Trevor Storrs letting me know the Hiland Correctional Facility have almost 100 scaves to donate!
A few days ago I sent an e-mail to Lisa Demer of the Anchorage Daily News letting her know what our group was doing. Here is the link to her article:
http://www.adn.com/2010/12/29/1624545/group-helps-homeless-one-scarf.html
Below is part of e-mails I received today:
Stephanie Taylor states she has a bunch of fleece to make scarves
Susan Burch says she can knit a scarf
Sally Ausman states she has 10 scarves now and should have 12 by Jan 26.
Christina Tyee says she can get some thing together by the 26th.
Patti Bogan state she have some hats, gloves and headbands to give you
Sue Brogan says she and her Mom (who lives in Kenai) 10 scarves and glove set and 10 scarves without gloves. She also told some of the ladies in her office and they said they have 20 !!!
Beverly called this morning and said she had 40 hats to donate. Her goal for 2010 was to make hats for the homeless. She was not sure how she was going to get them to the right place. When she read the article, she gave me a call and I will pick them up tomorrow.
Today has been a very good day.
